Hansard is available from the Parliament UK website and is the official report of all Parliamentary debates. The initial search field allows you to search all Hansard by keyword or for the name of a Member.
To the right of this field is an option to Find by Volume/Column number. Select this option to go directly to a specific record. All fields must be selected. Choose between Lords or Commons, select the Series Number, Volume and Column number.
For more information about how Parliament works please visit the Parliament UK website.
Sometimes the statutory annotations on resources like Westlaw or Lexis+ legislation may refer you back to Hansard to read the debates around the drafting of certain legislation.
